Merry Christ-mas, Mr. President: An Open Letter to President Obama

Dear Mr. Obama,

From the time you declared your candidacy for president of the United States and announced under your breath that you are a Christian, many true, Bible-believing Christians immediately had doubts about your muffled profession of faith. After all, for 20 years you drank deeply from the well of Rev. Jeremiah Wright — who, in spite of the clerical garb he wears, preaches a Universalist gospel. It is not the true gospel that Jesus proclaimed, which clearly states that He and He alone is the only way to heaven and the Father. That claim was for all people of the earth.

The Bible is not ambiguous, Mr. President, as you and some of your Universalist friends believe. Jesus made it clear in John 14:6 that He alone is “the way, the truth, and the life.” Furthermore, the Bible testifies in Acts 4:12 that “there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” except the name of Jesus.

That, Mr. Obama, is true Christianity.

Be that as it may, millions of Bible-believing Christians gave you the benefit of the doubt and decided to wait and see. After all, in the words of our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, “By their fruit you will recognize them” (Matt. 7:20). Many in the Evangelical community deliberately refused to judge you by your questionable associates and friends; they wanted to see for themselves.

And sadly, Mr. President, you deeply disappointed them.

Not only did you use endearing, even fawning, statements and declarations regarding Islam and Muslims, but you deliberately treated the National Day of Prayer underhandedly. While publicly recognizing every Muslim holy day in the past year, you failed to issue an Easter proclamation in 2011. You chose not to mention the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is, after all, the foundational bedrock of your Christian faith and the very reason why our nation celebrates Easter.

The limits of time and space do not afford me the luxury of enumerating your many anti-biblical and anti-Christian executive orders and policies. But I must speak to the bombshell of December 6, 2011.

You see. Mr. President, there are persecuted Christians in your home country of Indonesia, as well as in Nigeria. And thanks to your indecisive and failed policies, we have added Egypt to the list. These beleaguered Christians have always looked to the United States for encouragement and affirmation. But when they look to you, they find none.

Imagine, Mr. Obama, their dismay that you have not publically threatened to tie foreign aid — which is the taxpayers’ money, not the government’s  — to stopping the church burnings and the severe persecution and killings of Christians in Egypt. Yet on December 6, your administration did decide to publically threaten to tie American taxpayer money in the form of foreign aid to the support of gay and lesbian rights.

You surely know, Mr. Obama, that as Christians, while we see homosexuality as the Bible sees it … a sin, we never hate nor advocate the killing of homosexuals. That is something left to your dear “friends” in the Muslim world; something they do to both homosexuals and Christians on a regular basis.

The White House declared that this announcement  “marked the first U.S. government strategy to combat human rights abuses against gays and lesbians abroad.” This was no great comfort to desperate and persecuted Christians worldwide.

One final question, Mr. President.

If you are a true Christian, as you claim under your breath, why do you not feel that same passion and commitment toward your brothers and sisters in Christ, who are paying for their faith with their lives?

May the Lord’s hand guide you to all truth.

This is my regular prayer for you.

There was never a doubt in my mind that that man (Mr. Obama) is evil. He is definitely not on our side. He is doing everything in his power to destroy the United States of America and now he is stepping out to take over other countries also and tell them what to do!! I always said if he is not the anti-Christ, the main man, he is definitely one of them, a forerunner of the real one. I begged people not to vote for him and they would not listen because they were sure he was going to save us. Only Jesus Christ can save and all Obama is doing is taking us to the end and very quickly. Pray for your lost loved ones that they will be saved and keep looking up. "Our redemption draweth nigh!!"

Pastor, thank you so much for your wisdom and insight. Every day I pray that God will put a true Christian man or woman over our country. We, as followers of Christ, have the opportunity and the responsibility to replace the current administration before our country is completely destroyed from within...

When people vote for a handout - look what they will give me, they forget that is how it went for Germany and Russia etc...Pretty soon you are under their control and all those rosy handouts become entrapments.

Last two generations don't realize how dictatorship starts, it has been kept out of our history books and they tried to say it is a myth. Before you take in what you are told, check it out..Even this.

Thanks Pastor Michael Youseff for speaking the truth, Many pastors are leading people astray. Standing
for homosexuality because of toleration, God does not tolerate or either does Islam, but, they are getting them to come out now and if ....... Check out what you hear.

I have emailed Mr Obama and asked him to consult with you regarding the Middle east because you understand it like no other. i am sure you are still waiting for that call. You, my friend, are preaching "uncompromising truth" Please do not stop.

Thank you, very much, Dr. Youssef for this, very, eloquent letter. You speak for me, exactly! All, Christians, everywhere, should pray for Mr. Obama. May God speak to his heart, open his eyes and ears to the will of the Father. In my opinion, God will not, continue, to bless an ungodly nation. Having an ungodly President is, serious, cause for alarm as well as a call for, very, serious prayer.

Pastor Youssef you are such a blessing from God. Keep standing strong on the Word. We are so grateful to have you at "Such a time as this!". God has you here to be a voice for so many in God's family of saints. Never Forget Joshua 1:9 and Psalm 27 1-3. Our Savior goes into the battle ahead of you. I am fervently praying for the Revival of our nation starting with repentence within the family of God including myself. You are a Bright Light in such a dark and growing darker world. God is with you!!!! Thank you from my heart and soul.

I believe Dr. Youseff's open letter to President Obama squarely hits the bull's eye regarding the root of Obama's problem. As a ravenous wolf cleverly hiding in sheep's clothing (as the Bible clearly warns of), the Obama imposter has obviously achieved a great deal of success in fooling many people (voters) with his Christian act, although Christians are not supposed to cooperate with evil spirits of deception--provided by God, the Holy Spirit, with an ability to discern what type of tree a person is by the type of fruit their life produces--either good or corrupt. Those who genuinely took time to inspect the fruit this man's life was producing SHOULD HAVE KNOWN that Obama was not a genuine Christian, personally unable to fathom the 'wait and see' method, which is unscriptural and spiritually dangerous. God is Truth itself and is always speaking, God never leaving those who will heed His voice in the dark, the light of His Word continually exposing good vs. evil. This leads me to believe that (so-called) Christians who were 'fooled' by Obama are also not genuine Christians, else they WOULD HAVE KNOWN not to vote for him, God's gift of discernment not given to His people for absolutely nothing!

You are bold Dr.Youssef! You remind me of Daniel in his time and how he stood out! John and Paul as well! The Lord has a marvelous crown for you! Continue to passionately proclaim the truth as Paul, Peter, John and all others even when faced as such times lime these followed by persecution. May the Lord give you wisdom and understanding more than ever. God Bless you and your family and all the ones you lead to Christ!

How very true. Recently here in the U.K a Muslim was convicted of terrorist activities. His mother complained about his conviction. I could offer her sympathy if she would condemn countries such as Iran, Iraq, Egypt and many more for the brutality issued to Christians simply for being Christians. Carry on the good work.

Thank you Dr. Youssef! You are speaking the Word as it has been proclaimed throughout the Bible. Keep standing strong on the Word. We are so grateful to have you at "Such a time as this!". In my opinion, God will not continue to bless an ungodly nation. America is in great danger because our leaders are not telling the truth. The church of Christ must stand strong and speak out against what is being done that is so anti-Christ.

Pastor Youseff, Oh for more men like you, willing to stand firm and state Biblical truth and in the process, glorify our Creator and coming King, the Lord Jesus Christ. So tired of those who compromise Biblical truth to be "politically correct" but oh so Biblically wrong. One day EVERY knee will bow before the King of kings and Lord of lords....including Mr Obama. I pray for the salvation of his soul...before that day. Amen and amen!

Brave man... it's the truth, but I would be a bit surprised if the IRS or some other government agency didn't decide your church and broadcast ministry needed to be investigated. Keep speaking the truth, but my fear is that it you too will end up on the persecuted end of Obama's stick.

Amen Brother Michael! Well written and well said. I was telling anyone who would listen in '06 and '07 to beware of Obama. I saw right thru him, even with clouded eyes. When JESUS opened my eyes, ('09), I saw him for what he really is, a poor, hapless, misguided, lost soul; a pawn of Satan. I pitty him and pray he comes to his senses before it's too late.

Christ is in everyone of us, waiting to be revealed by his grace. I pray that all other unbelievers may see the light of Christ Jesus in all the truth happening in the world, that persecutions may stop, and that all leaders of the world, including Mr. Obama, be guided by the true wisdom there is in Christ, that true peace and love may reign in our hearts, with a conscience, and with responsibility and accountability to all of mankind.

Dr. Youseff, I pray along with you and others that President Obama will accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. I pray also that the United States will survive the overt and covert efforts of the progressive movement, which Barack Obama embraces, to subdue and destroy Christianity not only here but also abroad. My earnest hope is that the people of the United States will demonstrate that we will not allow ourselves to be led by ultraliberal politicians through the wide gate and down the broad path that leads to destruction. Thank you for proclaiming the eternal truth of the Gospel and pointing to the 'small gate and narrow path' (Matt. 7:14) that leads to salvation. God bless you for Leading the Way.

Obama celebrates the Muslim holy days because he is a Muslim. He constantly declares the virtues of Islam. Every good Muslim will persecute Christians. By his silence regarding the persecuted church, he is just being a good Muslim.

I know this feeling, and I absolutely hate it. I know as for myself, when I have to call somebody out like this, and have bitterness about the matter, it always oppresses me for a while. I have always wanted to address this very lying-lipped behavior to him myself, but just saw him as unreachable. Hallelujah, brother. Someone needs to tell him, however I can just see his smug face, as his hard heart just blows off our concerns. Hopefully something will spark something in that soul of his. We have to pray for his peaceful departure from office, and the next term's election that I feel is going to make or break this country.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is foolishness to those who do not believe. Unfortunately, our nation is in the hands of someone who doesn't understand the implications of his own foolishness. We can only pray that he will come to faith in the One who can take the blinders off and lead him to real repentance. In the meantime, we (the community of faith) must wake up to the schemes of the evil one to take our nation captive under the false pretenses of tolerance, acceptance and inclusion.

It is unfortunate the amount of Americans that feel that ignorance is bliss. It is a terrible detrimate to society when society itself chooses not to stand up for what they believe in because the leadership they have been shown whether at home or through government stands for NOT ONE thing this nation was founded on. THANK YOU Dr, Youssef for bringing into the light the TRUTH. When more Christians realize that the TRUTH "shall set them free" indeed, and decide to speak it from their lips, this nation will feel the healing power of Jesus Christ hover over it. God's word will never return void. May the true Christians of America see the truth, speak the truth and live the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May we pray that the presence of the Holy Spirit flow into the White House bringing great wisdom to our leaders for their sake and ours! And may no man perish as the will of the Father is that none shall perish; even our President. The only way President Obama will change his actions in public and in private is by the blood of Jesus Christ! I pray (we should all pray) that by the power of Jesus Christ that every chain be broken from President Barak Hussen Obama and that the grace of Almighty God will bring him to repentance so that his household and all of the nations households can stand for something that is truly great.

I have admired you for your message of the gospel of Jesus Christ that you've preached and taught over the years. You are a great leader but I disagree with you on this open letter because you didn't write it in love instead you do what the ungodly does. The President is not responsible for the hatred that exist in this world and the U.S. Where is your open letter to the previous administration, Bill Clinton for the immorality adultery in the white house, a war where there were no weapons of mass destruction thereby killing innocent soldiers and destroying families. All the evils and the failed economy didnt star 4 years ago with President Obama. If you think things will be better with another president think again because unless a President is filled with the Holy Spirit and the people repent of their sins and be saved this nation will continue to decline.

Dr Youssef, well done and true.

As for the president, we can’t know what is in Mr Obama’s heart. His actions and associations, however, speak volumes.

Three years into his presidency, we should no longer give him the benefit of the doubt: he is either willfully ignorant about Islam, or lies about it for political gain. Neither is acceptable.

This is not a partisan problem: Sadly, Mr Obama is not alone in this deception. President Bush also, repeatedly and against all evidence, referred to Islam as a “religion of peace.”

As always, we should defend Christians, wherever they may

We are to pray for our leaders. We don't know what lies in the heart but it is God who searches the deep places. I enjoy your perspective on the Word but differ greatly on your thoughts on our President. But I will pray for you, President Obama, and myself that Jesus will give us discernment and courage to stand where others sit and teach us how to be silent when others scream.

Be blessed.

Dr. Youssef, I am new in the walk of Christ. I pray for strength in knowledge of God's Words throughout each day. The Lord has provided me an intimate relationship within the Trinity and valuable resouces within my Pastor, Joel Osteen, and you. I listen to you on the local Christian radio station and occasionally able to view your beautiful sermons on television. To hear you address the congregation as "beloved" sings to my heart each time. Your gift from God is well received and appreciated by all privileged believers who are able to not only hear the Word, but feel its power of Grace. Thank you for cultivating your Godly Gift so wonderfully.

I could not have said this any better. I agree with you 100%. While I am not a Democrat or Republican; and did not vote for him. I felt he should not have been President. I felt he was not a true Christian and I find it hard to believe anything he says. I am appalled at the way he treats people of the Christian faith.
