Why Do the Members of the Secular Media Hate Bible-believing Christians?

The clearest answer comes from a statement reputedly made by President Harry Truman during his 1948 Presidential election campaign.

One of his supporters yelled out to him, “Give ‘em Hell, Harry!” Truman responded, “I don't give them Hell. I just tell the truth about them and they think it's Hell.”

That is precisely the reason why there is a war on Christians waged by members of the secular media.

Christians speak the truth about God’s best for humanity as it applies to morality, laws and governing principles, but the secular media views these truths as Hell.  Truth always feels like Hell to those who reject, deny, or hate the truth.

When Bible-believing Christians share that there is only one true God who is lovingly inviting people to believe in Him and receive His redemption, or face His coming judgment, that is Hell to those who view themselves as their own gods—masters of their own fates. Many of these self-made gods control our media.

As gods, they want no competition. They reject the truth that God is God alone and that He will hold them accountable for mocking Him and His followers. Thus, the truth is Hell to them, even before they get there. They express their hatred for God’s truth by heaping venom on anyone who declares God’s truth.

Bible-believing Christians proclaim the truth about the biblical principles that guided this nation’s founders. But those who are rewriting American history to fit their desire for self-worship want to silence them. Thus, whenever a Christian lovingly and thoughtfully points them to the truth of history, they hound them down, accusing them of “racism,” “hate speech,” and “bigotry.” Why?

Because truth to them is Hell, so they want to muzzle Christians and their message.

When Bible-believing Christians declare that there are moral absolutes that all men must live by, and that when these moral absolutes are tampered with curses and not blessings will follow...it really angers them. It sets their teeth on edge.

To them these truths are Hell, so they respond by likening Christians to the Taliban and the Jihadis…can you imagine?

The Christians who founded the hospital movement.

The Christians who founded the library movement.

The Christians who founded the orphanage movement.

The Christians who founded education.

The Christians who have and continue to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and care for the needy.

The Christians who sacrificed and continue to sacrifice in following the role model of their Savior who gave His all on a cross to save them. How can they say that Christians are likened to the Taliban?

The Taliban who shoot women in the head at close range in soccer stadiums.

The Taliban who bury people alive for their sins and misdemeanors.

The Taliban who stone women to death for mere accusations.

If I were a rich man, I would offer these self-worshipping gods of the secular media a six month trip to Afghanistan or Iran. If they ever returned from such a trip, they would be changed men and women.

My concern is that the very truth that can set them free is the truth they attack.  I know why they attack it—because it feels like Hell to them.  It is condemning. However, my heart is not to condemn them, but to pray to God to open their blind eyes, just like He opened mine, so that they may see the truth before it is too late for them.

My wife and I listen to you each week, support your ministry financially, and look for your teaching and guidance all the time. We are both 71 year old Christians, I'm a bible teacher and we both have been Christians for 37 years, and our children are all Christians with thier families. We now attend the Springs Church, pastored by Gary Wilkerson, son of David Wilkerson who pssed away earlier this year. The Lord has been good to us, and you are one of the blessings he has sent us. Totally agree! Always found the attitude of the press very odd, especially when they condemn Christians for banal stuff but stay silent on the injustices of other religions.

I'll have to say as well that I've never heard this put better. Jesus reminded us that if the world hates us, it hated Him first, hating and rejecting Christians for the Truth's sake. A confrontation with the Jesus who lives in us must indeed be an agonizing torment for demons who blind the eyes of those Jesus died for, also praying for the captives to be set free.

I could not agree more! Today while waiting on line to get into the health club before going to work the discussion got around to global warming. When I attempted to point out that in my opinion it was a fraudulent attempt to steal money from people via "cap and trade" and then commented that I don't worship the creation but the Creator. You would have thought I socked someone in the face. One guy literally went completely "off" on me saying "don't even go there" and what does "religion" have to do with that, etc. When I attempted to explain, he continually refused to allow me to speak saying: I don't want to hear it, let's not go there, etc. I never ever saw this guy show one shred of emotion on ANYTHING in all the years that I know him, but once I mentioned God and the Bible he went OFF completely. Needless to say I was really shocked as I never expected him to react in such a way.....The truth really strikes a raw nerve in people like I never realized before.

Speaking as a secular humanist (though not a member of the media) I can state it is complete and utter balderdash that secularists think of themselves as gods. In fact, this is one of the most absurd thigns I have ever heard or read. I don't believe in unicorns, though some do, does that mean I believe I am a unicorn? I don't believe in ghosts, some do, does that mean I am a ghost?

A god is a supernatural being with supernatural powers. I don't have any of these things. That I don't believe that morality should be based on the whims of a god but to suit the needs of human beings, doesn't mean I believe I am a god. It is sad that those on the religious right believe that the only being that can decide moral questions is their supposed god.

That makes morality completely meaningless of course because morality is than just the whims of a deity. The fact is nobody is trying to silence Christians or more specificially the Christian right-wing. We just don't want the government promoting and endorsing religion. The Christian rightwing can still if they so wish, deny that we are a nation born upon the Enligtenment and state that we are basically a Christian republic though Christianity, Jesus or the bible is not mentioned at all in the Constitution.

What a great analysis! As a Canadian observer, I am convinced that the bulk of our news organizations, with the exception of the Sun News Network, fall into the same category, as you outline. What "christian civilization" has done for humanity is almost incalcuable. The media just won't acknowledge that obvious fact. The chances of Canada going down the same road as the U.S., is more remote. However, that slippery slope is there and some are starting to slide here, too. Our prime minister has gone against President Obama and vetoed all G-8 actions against Israel. So, we have some hope here. The U.S., on the other hand, is a lot farther down the slope of economic, spiritual and cultural ruin. The media, as you so well explain, is at the forefront of this degeneration. May God help us to wake up as nations and do what we can in these days of apostacy, apathy and moral and spititual relativism.

It is a upsetting to being compared to the Taliban. You, my dear brother, walk with God's truth do not let the Adversary make you lose your focus. This is the time of tribulations, we must pray for those who attack us for no valid reason. Let's be like Paul and fight a good fight in the name of the LORD. Jeremiah 4:22 states, " Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backsliding. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art theLord our God." The people are refusing to listen to God's Words. This is what God says, "Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it (14).

Religion is definitely in the Declaration of Independence - We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Go read the wiki page for the US Capital - In its early days, the Capitol building was not only used for governmental functions. On Sundays, church services were regularly held there - a practice that continued until after the Civil War.

And like you have been told before on this blog, go to D.C. and you will see bible references on many of the statues and architecture.

Have you thought about presenting something on this class warfare garbage in the media by perhaps inviting folks to read the ten commandments again. Simple stuff is so hard for the lost, and I have been there. We all, like sheep, have gone astray. I get re-blinded on occasion. Education by the Word is the most profitable thing going.
